Reactions to The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite

Right across the board, children and adults have loved the brightly colored pictures and the fuzzy toy bedbug.

New Zealand
    • A nanny reports that the kids she looks after ask for the book to be read repeatedly. And they love the bedbug toy, which is taken into bed with them. "Bedbug" is clearly one of their favorites!
    • A teacher loved the Bedbug story and read it aloud in Bedbug's "voice."
    • One woman saw the Bedbug book and bought it to give out as a Christmas present.
    Australia
    • A woman saw the book and purchased a copy to take with her to Australia for her pre-school grandchildren.
      New Brunswick
      • A grandmother gave The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite to her granddaughter in New Brunswick. The young one loves the story and begs to have it read to her each night. The mother also likes the story and has indicated that she may be ordering more Bedbug books in future. Both daughter and mother have expressed interest in the SECOND STORY in the BEDBUG SERIES.
        British Columbia
          • Sidney: A six-year old is taking her Bedbug book with her to school for "Show and Tell." Based on the CLUE in the first book, she keeps asking about the next story. This little one wondered if a toy came with the next story. Update: the whole class got to hear the story because the teacher liked the book and read it to the kids.
          • Nakusp: A mother in B.C. has just ordered a copy of the book for her young son. She also has expressed interest in the SECOND STORY as her son particularly likes book series/book sets. She wants to take her copy to a school to show the administrator.
          Nova Scotia
            • Truro: A hospital worker liked the look of the book and she bought it for a friend who has a child.
            •  Truro: A 10-year old girl just had to have her own copy of the book and the bug--even though the story is for a somewhat younger audience. She loved the idea of the CLUE in the first book. She and her mother hung "Bedbug" on their Christmas tree.
            • Truro: Another hospital worker borrowed a copy of the book and is taking it to show her child. The younster really liked the book.
             Cape Breton

Waiting on Another Bedbug Book Shipment

The first box of BEDBUG BOOKS is all but gone! I've set aside a couple of copies for those who put in dibs for signed copies but the rest of the books have found homes with young ones.

The publisher is going to send me a second box of books and these are already spoken for. The books will be going into a number of local establishments.

I've sent two books to my granddaughter and her mother relates that she asks for the book to be read to her each night. She's taken the two fuzzy toy bedbugs into bed with her. My granddaughter is going to take one of her Bedbug books to school for "Show and Tell."

It's great to hear that kids are so enthusiastic about the story.

Bedbug Book to Go into Local Establishments

Wow! I've been getting so much positive feedback on my first Bedbug Book. People who've bought the book for their kids report their children love the story and particularly enjoy the toy bedbug.

I've made arrangements so that The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite is available in select locations in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. This way locals will have easy access to the book. I'll also be placing the book down in the Parrsboro area.

People can also order online or at this blog but placing the book in local business establishments means no waiting period for those who are eager to obtain a copy.

I'm waiting on a book shipment but once I receive that and have distributed the books, I will announce locations where Nova Scotians can pick up their copies.

We are arranging for a larger version of the book (without the bug or in the bag)  to appear at Amazon and once this goes through, I will let readers know.

                    Signed Copies

                    * Contact me if you would like a signed copy

                    * I'm very pleased to mention that one teen who struggles with autism has responded favorably to the book. It is gratifying to bring happiness to any number of children. It is heart warming that the book has drawn a response from such a varied reader base.

Author Interview--The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite

Many people have expressed interest in The Bedbug Who Wouldn’t Bite. This author interview addresses questions I’ve been asked.

How Did You Come Up With The Idea for the Story?
I have to give credit to my granddaughter. We were snuggled up one evening and she asked for a story. She was wiggling and squirming and I wanted to capture her attention. The first part popped into my head. I started with: “Night, night, sleep tight,” said the bedbug who wouldn’t bite. Zee’s head swiveled around. “Gammy,” she asked, intrigued, “why wouldn’t the bedbug bite?”

Can You Tell Us About the Bedbug Character?
Children have a sense of humor and are delighted with characters that act “out of character.” After all, what child behaves all the time? The little bedbug doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do. My granddaughter started begging for more . . .

                    Feedback About the Bedbug Book

I just received another report about the Bedbug Book. A 6-year old girl was given The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite by her grandmother for a Christmas present.

The 6-year old girl just loved the story and her own little orange bedbug and she asks to have the book read to her repeatedly.

The book has proved to be a popular Christmas present for young ones.

New Buttons Help Save on Shipping for Multiple Book Orders

Bedbug was launched Dec. 8th and since then, it's been an exhilarating ride!

Many expressed interest in the book and purchased their copies the night of the book signing; others ordered online.

And some wanted not just one book but a number of copies. One lady, the night of the book signing, picked up 5 copies of the BEDBUG BOOK to pass out to kids she knew. Another lady chose 3 books for her grandkids, I have three sitting on top of my piano, set aside for signing, for a gentleman who wants to give them to young relatives as gifts.

                    Ordering Multiple Copies Online
Others wanted to order multiple copies online. We had this functionality at The Bedbug Books store but decided, in light of the growing interest over the Bedbug Book, to make this available across all sites.

We've replaced the Buy Now button with another button that allows for purchase of multiple copies of The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite, thus helping customers to save on shipping costs when combining orders.

All buttons should be fully operational but if any difficulties are encountered please contact us so that we can address any "bugs." Whether you order one copy or order many, the new button should make ordering easier.

The publisher and I want to thank everyone who has been so enthusiastic about the little BOOK and the BUG in the BAG. Bedbug is charming all who become acquainted with him and, as of this writing, the cute TOY BEDBUG is adorning a number of Christmas trees--ours included!

                    Bedbug says "Merry Christmas!"

                    Buying Options & Bugs

Bedbug dropping in today. We've received reports that folks are experiencing a few "bugs" when trying to buy the BEDBUG BOOK. Today we will take a look at how to buy one or more copies of the book. We've provided  different buying options, which I will discuss below.

For people who want to order via email, you can contact the publisher to do so: info@worldfamousbooks.co.nz

We've been experiencing site difficulties and are looking into this. For the time being, please use the options above until we've worked the "bugs" out.

Hacking and Sabotage of One of Our Sites?

Today, I'm saddened to announce that we may have a case of hacking and sabotage of the World Famous Books site.

People who have tried to go to the site are receiving messages that the site has been hacked and may harm their computer.

Now, this may be a case of Holiday hi-jinks but it may be indicative of something else: an outside party has seen the growing interest in The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite and made a last dash attempt to prevent Christmas and New Year's sales of the books. If the latter is the case, I'm sickened that someone would try to prevent little ones from having a book for Christmas or in the New Year.

I want to assure everyone that the problem is being investigated and when I tried to go to
World Famous Books just now, all appears to be working as it should.

We are making The Bedbug Who Wouldn't Bite available across multiple sites so, for now, if anyone has any concerns about the safety of the World Famous Books site, simply use the PayPal buttons on this blog or visit The Bedbug Books site to pick up your copy.

And please, everyone, let us know how you make out.

In other news, the Bedbug book is attracting attention. I had two local sales this morning, so more little kids are going to find the book under the tree Xmas morning.

People keep telling me they want copies for nephews, nieces and grandchildren--and they aren't just thinking Christmas. One lady bought books for birthdays that are coming up in the New Year.

It is particularly fitting that we have just released 48 new
BEDBUG PRODUCTS--and in light of the site hacking, Bedbug's message is even more apt: "There's always a choice!"

We all can choose to do good or bad. Let's hope for this Christmas Season that "the many" choose to do good.

                    Interview for Bedbug Book

Today I was contacted to do an interview for the local paper. Last week, I sent out a number of press releases and then got busy and completely forgot about them.

At any rate, I chatted with a reporter and answered her questions, then arranged to send more bio info. and additional pics. I'd included some of this in the press release but she wanted additional information.

I've always saved my clippings and it will be nice to add these to the collection, once the announcement comes out in the paper.

I'm now wondering if I will be contacted by other newspaper concerns. It will be interesting to see what transpires.
