How did Bedbug come into being?
One evening, I was cuddled up with my granddaughter, Zealah.
"Gammy," she said, "tell me a story."
Now, Zee is a rambunctious child and just loves a good giggle.
Each evening, we had a ritual. We would say, "Night night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite."
I decided to jazz things up a little and started to tell Zee about a bedbug that was a little different. This little bedbug wouldn't bite. . . . and the idea for BEDBUG was born! Zee loved it!
I started composing the story and would try each verse out on Zee. Each evening she would ask for the story: "Gammy, can you tell me Bedbug?"
Zee no longer lives under "Gammy's" roof but each time we talk on the phone, she puts in a request for the Bedbug story.
Zee loved Bedbug so much, I decided to make it available to other youngsters who enjoy thinking outside the box.
